David Donovan's profile

A Look at the Post-Pandemic Economic Growth in the US

The recipient of a bachelor's in business and finance from Boston College, David Donovan previously worked as a senior trader at Fidelity Investments. Since 2005, he has served in an executive capacity at Publicis Sapient. Since leaving Fidelity, David Donovan has gone on to manage relationships with global investment banks and offered his expertise in the investment banking industry to well-known business publications.

In October 2020, he granted an interview to Bloomberg about Citigroup and JPMorgan Chase's confidence in the post-pandemic economic recovery. They reported a combined allocation of $2.87 billion for loan losses during Q3 2020, less than 50 percent of what many analysts projected. Moreover, both banks were encouraged by the rate at which consumers were able to make credit card payments.

Business spending is also critical to an economic rebound, and there were several positive signs in that area as of March 2021. Among other companies, Google, Urban Outfitters, and PepsiCo had invested heavily in operations to enhance efficiency and restructure operations. Moreover, orders for capital goods from August 2020 to January 2021 had the most substantial six-month annualized pace of growth since 1992.
